EX2003 PF's - "from" and signature filled in automatically upon reply
Hi, I'm sure my question is typical, but having searched I cannot find the answers. We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003. We have a bunch of mail-enabled Public Folders such as marketing@company.com, trademarks@company.com etc. We have multiple staff checking these folders and when someone replies to an email which arrives in these folders they have to manually add the "from" address of the public folder and change the email signature. I understand one solution would be to have an event sink change the message class of incoming emails to a custom form. This custom form would have a 'custom' reply button which would open a custom reply form with the "from" address and signature filled in. Is this the best (and only) way to do it? If so, how do I design/install the event sink? (I'm not a VB developer). Most companies have generic mailboxes such as info@ sales@ etc so how are they doing it? Many thanks Michael. PS: We may shortly be upgrading to Ex2010 and Outlook 2010. Would any solution we implement now still work after the upgrade?

This is addressed in Outlook 2010. You would have two mailboxes for example: a personal one, and a sales@company.com one. when you reply from a message in the 2nd mailbox the 2nd mailbox's address is used. You do not need Exchange 2010 for this, and I'm not sure it works with public folders - havent tried. And yes. if you do event syncs they will not work in exchange 2010. I'd avoid this and public folders if possible. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!
